Parent Advisory Board

We strive to create an environments that are inclusive not only of the children that attend, but also of the parents and families! We believe that in order for our centres to fully meet the needs of each individual family, we need to have parent involvement. Thus, the Parent Advisory Board was created! We encourage families to become a part of the Parent Advisory Board. It gives a family voice to our centre, benefiting the families who attend, the staff providing the program, and most of all the children!

In Edmonton our Parent Advisory Board meets twice a year. Typically these meetings will fall around May and October. If you are interested in becoming apart of this Board and having more of a voice in your child's centre please let the office know! We love receiving feedback and hearing any fresh ideas you may have.

Our Learning Approach

Through Play, Relationships & Exploration
At Seeds & Sprouts, we believe children learn best through meaningful play, caring relationships, and hands-on exploration. Our educators create engaging, play-based learning experiences that encourage children to ask questions, solve problems, build confidence, and develop a lifelong love of learning.

Our classrooms are thoughtfully designed to support every aspect of a child's development. Through art, sensory exploration, early literacy, music, movement, dramatic play, science, outdoor experiences, and everyday routines, children develop social, emotional, physical, creative, and cognitive skills at a pace that respects their individual strengths, interests, and abilities.

Our educators observe children's interests, document their learning, and thoughtfully plan experiences that build on their curiosity while encouraging independence, creativity, and collaboration. Families are valued partners in each child's learning journey and stay connected through regular communication, monthly classroom newsletters, and ongoing conversations with educators.

Our approach is guided by Alberta's Early Learning and Care Framework, which supports high-quality, play-based learning through meaningful relationships, responsive environments, and child-led exploration. By following the principles of FLIGHT, we foster a strong sense of belonging, well-being, engagement, and expression, helping children develop the confidence, curiosity, and skills they need to thrive both now and in the future.

Enriching Learning Experiences

Beyond the Classroom
At Seeds & Sprouts, we believe children learn best when they are given opportunities to explore new experiences in fun, engaging, and meaningful ways. In addition to our play-based curriculum, children participate in a variety of enrichment programs that support their creativity, confidence, physical well-being, and overall development.

As part of our regular programming, children enjoy:

Monthly Yoga Classes
Our monthly yoga sessions encourage mindfulness, balance, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness while helping children develop self-regulation and relaxation skills in a fun, age-appropriate way.

Monthly Music Classes
Children explore rhythm, movement, singing, and musical instruments while building listening skills, creativity, self-expression, and confidence through interactive music experiences.

Monthly Art Classes
Our monthly art classes inspire creativity and imagination while helping children strengthen fine motor skills and explore a variety of materials, techniques, and open-ended artistic experiences.

Included in Your Tuition
All these enrichment experiences are included in your regular program fees at no additional cost, allowing every child to enjoy high-quality learning opportunities as part of their everyday experience at Seeds & Sprouts.

Nutrition and Friday Hot Lunch

Nourishing Growing Minds and Bodies
At Seeds & Sprouts, we believe healthy eating plays an important role in a child's growth, development, and ability to learn. We are committed to providing nutritious food choices that support healthy habits from an early age.

Our centre provides and afternoon snacks each day, prepared using high-quality, clean ingredients, with approximately % of our food being organic. We focus on offering fresh fruits, wholesome snacks, and balanced options that children enjoy while meeting their nutritional needs.

One of the things that makes our centre unique is that many of our baked goods are freshly prepared right here in our centre, allowing us to provide children with homemade snacks made with care.

Friday Hot Lunch
Every Friday, families have the option to purchase a freshly prepared hot lunch for their child. This optional program gives children the opportunity to enjoy a nutritious meal together while providing added convenience for busy families.

We take food allergies and dietary requirements seriously and work closely with families to help create a safe mealtime environment for every child.
